JUNIOR CREATIVE MARKETING DESIGNER– MATERNITY LEAVE REPLACEMENT (12-month Contract)

Role Overview
The Junior Creative Marketing Designer, reporting to the Senior Manager Consumer Marketing and working along with the Creative Marketing Designer, is responsible for producing and supporting the ideation of creative assets for digital, social, and print & traditional applications in line with brand positioning and business objectives while maintaining consistency across all channels. This includes visuals for websites, social media, packaging, Amazon.ca design, and retailer-specific needs. The Designer brings to life marketing initiatives through high-impact, content that drives engagement and conversion for all proprietary brands, licensed brands and exclusive label programs. This role requires strong design fundamentals, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. The designer must also be comfortable using AI tools and platforms to amplify creativity and improve process efficiency and bring an interest in photography and videography to their work.
This is a 12-month fixed-term contract covering a maternity leave.

Key responsibilities
Digital & social media design
  • Design and develop graphics for digital banners, advertising placements, landing pages, web stores, and social media
  • Translate marketing briefs and brand strategy into visual content across platforms
  • Animate or enhance digital elements when required (motion graphics a plus)
  • Conduct competitive and cross-industry benchmarking to ensure creative assets remain on trend and aligned with industry best practices & standards
Print & packaging design
  • Design hangtags, catalogs, POP, and other promotional collateral
  • Ensure print files are properly prepared (resolution, bleed, color mode, file format)
  • Work with production teams to ensure quality and accuracy from design to final print
Amazon.ca content design
  • Produce all Amazon.ca creative assets in compliance with templates and platform regulations
  • Support the design execution of A+ Content, brand stores, product imagery, and infographics tailored for the Amazon customer experience
  • Stay current with Amazon creative guidelines and best practices to ensure all submissions meet technical, branding standards and consumer needs
  • Recommend new formats, technologies, and creative enhancements to maintain a competitive edge on the platform
Brand communication
  • Ensure consistency in visual language with brand image and tone of voice across all channels by following brand books and design templates
  • Adapt creative concepts across different platforms to support integrated marketing campaigns
  • Support visual storytelling through lifestyle composites and product image editing
  • Contribute to brand and label development by crafting compelling visual identities and creating visually striking content aligned with consumer targets and brand identities
Creative collaboration
  • Work closely with marketing team members to bring product and campaign concepts to life through mock ups and presentation decks
  • Assist the Creative Marketing Designer in delivering creative projects in a timely fashion
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions and campaign planning
  • Apply feedback effectively and remain flexible to adjust designs as needed

Required qualifications
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) or college degree in graphic design or a related field
  • 1–2 years of experience in graphic design, e-commerce, creative agency, or marketing
  • Consumer Packaged Goods and/or Retail & Lifestyle industries experience is an asset
  • Strong understanding of digital and print production workflows
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with cross-functional internal teams
  • Experience in photography & videography is a plus
Technical proficiency
  • Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat); After Effects is a plus
  • Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Teams)
  • Photo editing, retouching, and digital manipulation skills
  • Understanding of layout, typography, color theory, and composition
  • Familiarity with email marketing platforms and CMS tools
  • Experience with project management software (e.g., Monday.com) is an asset
  • Extensive knowledge of the Amazon.ca platform, including rules and regulations for creative assets, A+ Content, and brand store creation
  • Comfort using AI design platforms is highly desirable

  • Capable of participating and executing creative strategies aligned with brand goals
  • Experience creating and maintaining technical documentation and design process guidelines
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to benchmark assets against competitors and apply insights to elevate creative output
